(October 14, 2006 - San Antonio, Texas) In an outstanding field of eleven, By Golly Sand stalked the early pace while racing two wide on a sloppy track at Retama Park in the one mile $15,800 Tiki Diablo Stakes.

The Jerry Partin trained 2002 colt, rallied on the far turn to take command of the field and win 3 ½ lengths over the bettors' favorite, Nordik Star. Nordik Star was six times stakes placed coming into this race, and tonight he made it seven times. Nordik Star crossed the finishline 7 ¼ lengths ahead of third place finisher, Genghis Kong.

By Golly Sand is out of ByGolly Missmolly by the late By Golly, a legend stakes winning and producing sire. By Golly Sand is sired by Burning Sands who commands a great deal of respect as a sire, also, with his offspring's earnings record well over the million dollar mark.

James Moore owns this powerful colt who was ridden to victory by jockey, Rick Knott. The winning time was 1:51.91.

The Texas Arabian Breeders Association thanks Sam Vasquez for his generous support of this race named as a memorial to his late multi-stakes winning horse, Tiki Diablo by Bandera KA. For years, Sam stood with his star athlete in many win photos as owner, which were the results of many thrilling performances Tiki Diablo fans all enjoyed.

Djet Set De Falgas, Ormond, Royal Opal, Ikanntoo, Amazing Proof, Mags Mad Max, Titan Missle and Zing Away also ran.
