Outstanding Recovery Earns a Win for GOLLY BRET in the
Cassels Bruczest Arabian Stake 2008

Lone Star Park, 01 November 2008 - Jockey Christopher Conway lost his irons briefly as the favorite Golly Bret stumbled badly out of the gates at the start of the Cassels Bruzcest Arabian Stake for 3-year-old Accredited Texas Bred Colts and Geldings. It looked to be a disappointing race for the Golly Bret, who recovered but was dead last behind the rest of the field. However he advanced effortlessly to settle in third by opening quarter. DC West Wing and Aarons Destiny had raced out to share the lead. Coming up strongly on the outside DC West Wing made a break for it and opened up by 2 1/2 on the field. Golly Bret, not rattled by his terrible start, quickly took over Aarons Destiny to put himself in second postion. Then he wasted no time putting dead aim on DC West Wing. At the top of the stretch Golly Bret took over and opened up by 5 lengths to an easy victory. DC West Wing was second, Aarons Destiny was third, followed by NC Galloping Gus and WMA Rushing Wind. Monarkos CS was scratched from the race.

Golly Bret is a chestnut stallion by Kador De Blaziet, out of Golly Gal by By Golly+/. He is owned and bred by Sam Vasquez. His lifetime record is now 1/6(5-1-0)1, $17,055.
