March 27, 2008 at Sam Houston Race Park-- The five year old bay mare Djenteel, coming into this race with 2 stakes wins and 3 stakes placings, added to her excellent record to boast 3 stakes wins in her career of only 13 starts. Jockey Travis Wales was aboard making this his second stake win of the evening. After an awkward start, Djenteel settled off the pace, came three wide into the stretch and made her bid entering the final furlong of this $11,300 stake.

Surreal CS set the pace in this field of 5 older mares, but she tired heading into the stretch and Jessys Princess took the lead. Then came Vibvilcca, advancing four wide on the turn to overtake Jessys Princess, but not soon enough to catch Djenteel who shook her off to win by a length. The finishing time for this 7 furlong stake was 1:35.20.

Five year old Vibvilcca is now 3 times stakes placed. She is a winner of 3 races, with 3 seconds including this finish, and 6 third place finishings.

Jessys Princess, also 5 years old, is a stakes winner (Calfornia Classic Oaks) and was previously 3 times stakes placed. She is a winner of 5 races, with 3 seconds and 2 thirds.

Finishers in order: Djenteel, Vibvilcca, Jessys Princess, Surreal CS, Edee Rose
