2011 Texas Arabian Lone Star Futurity, Fillies

TM Maddamee surprises fans in the first running of the Texas Arabian Lone Star Futurity, Fillies & Mares

November 11, 2011, Lone Star Park - The Lone Star Futurities have a long history and are a Texas tradition for 3 year olds, but this year the races were written as the “first running.” These races have always run at Retama Park or Sam Houston Race Park and the purse for the race this year was $10,000 added.

TM Maddamee had to work for her victory, but drew off by 1 ¼ lengths to surprise the fans and pay off well for a winning bet. Seven fillies went to post with Mufv It On Over the crowd favorite.

TM Maddamee got off in a hurry from the inside with Mufv It On Over beside her. Dancelildiamond muscled up to third with Djet Setting Sandrita right there. TM Maddamee showed her flashing speed as expected with Mufv It On Over in hot pursuit, these two moving out 6 lengths over the rest of the field by the half. Dance Lil Diamond was running a joint third with Eet Cetera who had come up from second last.

Running at the top of stretch, it was still a race between TM Maddamee and Mufv It On Over. Eet Cetera was throwing off challenges for third. Mufv It On Over was gaining strongly to the wire but TM Maddamee held ground under strong urging from jockey Jose Figueroa.

TM Maddamee won in Colorado back in August. And she had two 3rd placings recently in Texas, one in the Tiki Diablo Stake which included older fillies. She is owned and skillfully trained by Ken Danyluk. She is a daughter of Burning Sand and out of the mare Scarlet O Sara who has produced four other winners including two stakes winners. TM Maddamee was bred by Todd Moak, who is leading breeder in 2011.

Mufv It On Over is bred and owned by Dreamfield Arabian Racehorses, and has turned in impressive results with three wins in Texas this fall. She is sired by Kador De Blaziet and out of Mukfa PASB. She was under guidance of trainer Juan Ascencio and jockey Ivan Arellano.

Eet Cetera is a beautifully built winner sired by Djet Set De Falgas, and out of CS Crimson Tide. She´s owned and bred by Jane Teutsch of Soaring Eagle Ranch, trained by Elizabeth Brand and ridden by Rita Helton.

The finishers in order were TM Maddamee, Mufv It On Over, Eet Cetera, Dancelildiamond, Djet Setting Sandrita and Djewel CS. Final time for the 6 furlong race was 1:21.65.
