2014 Texas Arabian Fillies Futurity

LOVE TO DANCE wins the Texas Arabian Fillies Futurity-

secures spot as top 3 yr old filly in USA  



Retama Park, November 8, 2014 - LOVE TO DANCE set a well handled pace from the start and shook off challengers to win the Lone Star Arabian Fillies Futurity by 2 1/2 lengths. The talented grey filly owned and trained by Mark Powell is out of the mare Shall We Dance BW, by Line Dancer.  She was bred by Bill Waldron in Florida and is one of the first foals of the stallion Our Machine, owned by Cre Run Farm in Virginia.


LOVE TO DANCE has won 4 of her 9 races and placed second in two other starts. She's also a winner of the Grade 3 Delaware Park Juvenile Filly Championship Stakes. This win of the Lone Star Futurity secures her spot asleading 3 year old filly by in the USA for 2014, with earnings of $33,231.


RB Frynch Broad owned by Rosebrook Farms LLC made a strong bid in the stretch but settled for second place.  This filly is a daughter of 3-time UAE Horse of the Year MADJANI and the famous Arabian race mare FRYNCH.  RB Frynch Broad was ridden by Gerardo Mora and is trained by Jerenesto Torrez.  


Also trained by Torrez was the bay filly Throughleap who ran third.  Throughleap is owned by Krista Henningsgard and is a product of the breeding program of Mark Ashby. She's sired by 2008 Horse of the Year THOROUGHBRED out of A Noble Leap. Throughleap was ridden by Iram Diego. 


Special P, RB Djudge Djudy, RB Rich Kin, and Dormanes Fantasy CS completed the field. The final time of the six furlong race was 1:21.41.
